So last week I started my sister Kelli on her weight-loss journey. Because this is her path, I’m going to let her tell you how the week went for her but I will be throwing in my 2 cents here and there – it’s my blog after all! Thankfully I don’t live Kelli anymore so I didn’t have to deal with the inevitable mood swings that come with any kind of change, especially concerning diet but they are to be expected. She has persevered however and come out victorious!
Week one – DOWN 3 POUNDS! Woot!
Here’s what she had to say:
Ok…. My first week…
Day one and two were pretty good… Day three sucked for some reason. I really wanted junk food! Not even junk food but pasta. - (I have included pasta in this week’s menu)
I loved the chilli and the wrap with hummus and veggies! Oh and the soup. I could eat soup all day long! Speaking of eating all day long….. I’m having a hard time eating the nut butter and nuts. Not because I don’t like them, but the opposite. I love them! I know I’m not counting calories but I can’t help thinking about the amount of calories in the nuts, cause I know it’s super high. And because I love them I want to keep eating them. I think I need to know how many exactly. I’m suppose to use my own judgment but I’d rather not. (Kelli is correct here, nuts are high in fat but because the rest of her meals are fairly low in fat content I’m not too worried. I have suggested a small handful as a way of gaging herself)
And last the salmon. I hate fish…. Like gag hate. So I attempted, Stacey told me to suck it up….. Its not going to happen again. So Stacey, you can go suck on a tomato!!!!(I cut out the fish because it’s apparently the end of the world for her to eat it!)
She hates tomatoes in case you didn’t catch that (I do hate tomatoes)
I didn’t really exercise like I wanted to so I’m going to make a better effort this week. Even though I have a million Christmas concerts, get togethers and am trying to paint the house. No Christmas present for Stacey this week! I’ll see how next week goes and maybe I’ll change my mind
(I think that’s rude)
This week’s menu:
Kelli indicated that on the days I had her juicing in the morning and then eating veggies for lunch she was still pretty hungry so I have tried to included meals and snacks that will leave her feeling fuller longer. I have also tried throwing in some different options so she’s not eating the same thing all the time. If you are interested in any of the recipes I have giving her send me a message and let me know and I will send it to you!
Stay tuned next week when we talk about supplementation….woohoo!

High five like you mean it!
